From Letters of Note

AMBASSADOR 9393
4 November 1966.
Dear Master Seaman,
I'm glad to know of the interest of Form 5A in THE CARETAKER. I will answer your questions quite frankly.
i) Davies' papers are at Sidcup because that's where they are.
ii) His name is assumed because he assumed it.
iii) The two brothers see little of each other because they rarely meet.
iv) Aston fiddles with his plugs because he likes doing it.
v) When he goes out to walk, he walks.
vi) The monk swears at Davies because he doesn't like him.
vii) Davies doesn't like coloured people.
viii) He refuses to believe that he makes noises during the night.
ix) The Buddha is a Buddha.
x) The shed is a shed.
I assure you that these answers to your questions are not intended to be funny.
My best wishes to you all.
Yours sincerely,
(Signed, 'Harold Pinter')
Harold Pinter.

why some "enlightened" people put me off
Question to Peace Pilgrim: "Why don't you accept money?"
"Those who attempt to buy spiritual truth are attempting to get it before they are ready. In this wonderfully well-ordered universe, when they are ready it will be given.

I tried to do the survey on Simply Celebrate but I just had to stop because it was/is a complete exercise in futility. Even on days when a storm comes up, it just passes. There's this "what's the next thing?" element to frenzies that happen because that's how the meat's programmed. And there's reveling in the particularly fine moments. It's all kind of like turning the pages of a really well done photography book.

Scientific befuddlement
This link to an article about changing "laws" of physics was posted on the ineffable observatory today. It links to other articles of the same ilk.
This one that talks about rebounding "dark energy" amuses me, too.
I have such fun watching science trying to untangle those knots.

Pratchett
This man is one of my dearest friends and he has never heard of me. His books are always twofers. They are very entertaining and they occasionally have glimmers of Truth.
