This is here. This is now.

My husband and I drove for 4 hours to come to his niece's wedding.   Tomorrow, she adds a whole crowd of people to her family.  And they are nice.  They are fun. I'm sure that they have all the crazy that families have, but right now they are celebrating this young couple who are planning to look after each other.  As are her family of origin.

Tonight and tomorrow, there is joy.

Don't Take Anything Personally.

Nothing others do is because of you. What others say and do is a projection of their own reality, their own dream. When you are immune to the opinions and actions of others, you won't be the victim of needless suffering.

Men in Black, III

Go see this movie, even if you haven't seen the other 2 and don't care for science fiction.  I"m not kidding.

Mostly, it's just fun.

But then, there's Griffin.

He's not in the other ones.

He makes the whole series worthwhile.

Really.

Still don't like his books

A propos of dreams, is it not a strange thing if writers of fiction never dream of their own creations; recollecting, I suppose, even in their dreams, that they have no real existence? I never dream of any of my own characters, and I feel it is so impossible that I would wager Scott never did of his, real as they are.”
– Charles Dickens, letter to C.C. Felton, Sept. 1, 1843

Singular Fire

Fire drawing from Glithero on Vimeo.

It seems that the embedding of this video is a little strange.  I see a nice preview.  chuck sees Vimeo gobbledy gook.

It really is a nice metaphor.

Or not.

 Or, alternatively
Advice to Myself by Louise Erdrich
Leave the dishes.
Let the celery rot in the bottom drawer of the refrigerator
and an earthen scum harden on the kitchen floor.
Leave the black crumbs in the bottom of the toaster.
Throw the cracked bowl out and don’t patch the cup.
Don’t patch anything. Don’t mend. Buy safety pins.
Don’t even sew on a button.
Let the wind have its way, then the earth
that invades as dust and then the dead
foaming up in gray rolls underneath the couch.
Talk to them. Tell them they are welcome.
Don’t keep all the pieces of the puzzles
or the doll’s tiny shoes in pairs, don’t worry
who uses whose toothbrush or if anything
matches, at all.
Except one word to another. Or a thought.
Pursue the authentic-decide first
what is authentic,
then go after it with all your heart.
Your heart, that place
you don’t even think of cleaning out.
That closet stuffed with savage mementos.
Don’t sort the paper clips from screws from saved baby teeth
or worry if we’re all eating cereal for dinner
again. Don’t answer the telephone, ever,
or weep over anything at all that breaks.
Pink molds will grow within those sealed cartons
in the refrigerator. Accept new forms of life
and talk to the dead
who drift in though the screened windows, who collect
patiently on the tops of food jars and books.
Recycle the mail, don’t read it, don’t read anything
except what destroys
the insulation between yourself and your experience
or what pulls down or what strikes at or what shatters
this ruse you call necessity.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is as true and as much bullshit as any other opinion expressed by whomever feels like attempting to communicate.
It's all some one's idea of happiness or freedom; but what touches them, what works for them may have no relevance for you. Whoever, whatever, "you" seems to be.

I stole this from Facebook

The website is actually Radio Free Babylon

What π sounds like

Fibonacci, fractals, pi.  Visible math delights me.

In this case, it's audible.

Speakin' truth to power

Ha!

And since that probably doesn't make any sense whatsoever...

There is no truth; there is no power; may as well go for fun.

Or not.

The days begin to lengthen

The "new year" begins.  (It's as good a marker as any.)

I wish you joy.
